Overview
Frances Perkins’ ancestral homestead, a National Historic Landmark, is a saltwater farm consisting of 57 acres of woods and fields along the Damariscotta River in Newcastle, Maine.  The 1837 brick home is listed as “The Brick House Historic District” in the National Register of Historic Places. In 2014, the property was designated a National Historic Landmark.

From the place that Frances considered home, explore our free exhibit, which presents an overview of the life of Frances Perkins, highlighting her accomplishments through historic photographs, text, and personal memorabilia.

  • The exhibit space also includes a small library with Frances Perkins Center publications and related works of interest, with some available for purchase.
