Join us for the first of our annual Frances Perkins Homestead Tours and get to know this National Historic Landmark that was home to Frances Perkins, the first US woman cabinet secretary. You will see the Perkins family’s 1837 Brick House and its 57 acres of fields and gardens, as well as trails to the Damariscotta River; and learn about how this place shaped Frances Perkins’ New Deal legacy. The tours are led by Frances Perkins Center board members, an archeologist who has conducted surveys on the site, and Perkins’ grandson, Tomlin Perkins Coggeshall.
Sturdy walking shoes and a hat are recommended. Bottle water and light refreshments will be provided.
