A lifelong champion of workers’ rights, Perkins served as Secretary of Labor for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s from 1933 to 1945. As the driving force and architect behind key New Deal programs—including Social Security and unemployment insurance—her work continues to impact millions of Americans today.

This informative program will feature Perkins’ remarkable contributions and introduce attendees to the work of the Frances Perkins Center, the official philanthropic partner of the Frances Perkins National Monument in Newcastle, Maine.
