Along with the New York City Department of Transportation, Manhattan Community Board 4, Frances Perkins Center, the Perkins Family, and Hell’s Kitchen Walking Tour Historian James Kaplan, folks were invited to a street co-naming of FRANCES PERKINS PL.
To appreciate thoroughly the life and
accomplishments of Frances Perkins, a great agent
of social change who served as Secretary of Labor
throughout FDR’s tenure, requires recognizing that
faith was the foundation of who she was and all that
she did.
At its annual meeting on January 26,
the FPC Board elected member Keith
Mestrich as its new Chair.
