In a career that spanned over 60 years, Frances Perkins witnessed the devastating
effects of America’s boom and bust economic cycles on its citizens and devoted her life
to ameliorating those effects. In a Congressional career of over three decades, Barney
Frank – like Frances Perkins, committed to economic opportunity for all – fought to
counteract the growing economic disparities among Americans. Congressman Frank
will also be presented the Frances Perkins Center’s Courage and Intelligence Award.
